Lately I have been feeling the itch to upgrade my k100d, so I did what most people recommend and instead I got a better lens (da 35mm f2.4.) Then I dug out some old jpegs I made with my kit lens and a quantaray 70-300mm zoom and had some 11x14 posters made. I must say the results at 6.1 megapixels were more than acceptable. I am seriously rethinking my body upgrade.

I didn't really upgrade from the K100D to the K-5 for image quality, even though that is a huge improvement, I wanted the nicer body, viewfinder and controls. I think if there was a body similar to the K-5 with most of the same features (minus live view and video due to CCD limitations), but with the K100D's sensor I would have been very happy.

I still have my K100D and short of a flaky e-dial, it has been a great body.

+1. A 6Mp CCD K5 would have been the cats meow.

I love my K100d even with the dim viewfinder, slow buffer, and mirror slap that wakes the dead!! There is just something about how it renders photos(sigh) that makes me really like the results!! Now I still entered the K-50 contest because free is free, and if I upgrade it will be for higher iso abilities. I do concert shots for fun and would like more for that, but I seem to do ok with what I got. And If I remember correctly the K100d was best in class when it was offered!
May your K100d live forever!!!
Joel
P.S I was printing off 8x10's yesterday and they looked awesome!!!
