PNY 128GB Elite Performance 90MB/s SDXC Flash Card

Does anyone have experience using the PNY 128GB Elite Performance 90MB/s SDXC Flash Card
Amazon is selling this "90MB/s 128GB card for $79.99 with free shipping.
I just ordered the
SanDisk Extreme Pro 64 GB SDXC Class 10 UHS-1 Flash Memory Card 95MB/s SDSDXPA-064G-X46 for $133.65 also from Amazon.
That is about the same specification - at least for read - and twice the capacity for almost half the price. I am guessing the write speed will be significantly slower.

I wish they would clearly spec write and read speed. For taking pictures in the field I am seeking a fast write speed.

But if this PNY card is close - then it looks like a very good deal.

Thanks for any feedback

It sounds like you got a great deal on the sandisk card. I think I paid more than 200 for mine!

You get what you pay for. The pny cards tend to get worse reviews, at that price I don't think the write speed is 90mb/s either.

If this is the card:

PNY 128GB Elite Performance 90MB/s SDXC Flash Card (P-SDX128U1H-GE):Amazon:Computers & Accessories

Its showing as having a 35mb/s write speed. That's going to feel a bit slow in raw or for bursts on the K-3. I'd stick with the sandisk.

It depends on which camera you have.

I just ran some tests on a bunch of disks. The Sandisk 95 was clearly the best for the Nikon D600 but with quite a price. The lesser Sandisks (80 MB/s) were better values IMO, especially on the K-5 where there's virtually no improvement to be had above 40 MB/s.

I will be posting the results to my blog in the next few days.

Can't really recommend PNY over Sandisk in any case. Plus, as we have debated throughout the board, many of us are loathe to put an entire shooting session on one huge card. Personally, I don't own anything bigger than 16 GB.
