You'll like it up to ISO 400 and maybe higher as long as you don't underexpose the shadows.

Thanks Steve,

I'll use it for holidays and just like that with a bright lens (like the Pentax F 50mm f1.7 or the DA 50mm f1.8) or maybe a the Pentax 16-45mm f4 (even I guess this one can be tricky if light is needed).

I'd like a +/- 28mm f/1.8 made by Pentax for general use. I do have 2 (?) S-M-C Takumar 35mm f/2 lenses though.

I'm pretty happy with my SMC Takumar 55mm f1.8

I've had beautiful prints up to 20 x 30 in made from my K10D files!
Just the other day while trying to compare cameras I was reading about this (I sold the K20D and I'm thinking of the replacement). Back in 2010 or 2011 a pro photographer was saying he shot a lot of weddings with the K20D and printed up to 32x48 with no issues. And I've heard about 20x30 being ok even for 8.2MP cameras. I used to have a "posh P&S" 7.2MP camera that I used and printed a 20x30 poster of my wife when she was pregnant, years ago. And you can "pixel peep" it, it's not blurry, and you see all the detail of the beautiful beach dress and the sand of the sea. That poster is still in my son's room.

But now the "expert sites" tell us we're not supposed to print larger than 12x18 unless we have a 24MP camera.... how does that work? I know on whose side they're on

I've done 11 x 17s off a cropped 8 MP image. My local photo shop owner has a huge print from a 6 MP camera. Tony Northrup says he has done billboards with a 6 MP camera. I think it's silly to worry about the technical details until it interferes with your photography. BTW, MP = Megapickles!

Great colours but I think you could have safely gone at least 1 slower to show some details of the bird better 👍

Maybe just a tad off, but pretty good - and the classic Tak 55 rendering is wonderful, of course

After a couple of months with a 20MP CMOS, I still think the 10MP CCD gives better results at ISO100. There's a sense of luminosity with the CCD that the CMOS just can't equal.

Here's one from today with the SMC Takumar 28mm/3.5. (Xposted in the Takumar Club)

Very nice, Dave!

So... a question for you guys. Do you feel that the K10D being only 10MP ever holds you back? Still considering one, love those saturated colors... the K 24 2.8 that is on its way to me should shine on it...
