So a K10D picture won the "Project 52" weekly challenge this past week... this is it, with the Tokina 19-35 (AF193) and a Nikon warming filter on it... not much PP, mostly just levels adjustment (for the whole pic) and the default sharpening.

Thank you Ray

I will be getting a newer camera sometime, but the K10D is staying. And I'm not in a hurry, I'm having fun as it is.

I mean, would a newer camera give me more delightful greens than this? I don't know...

No, it won't. You are really nailing the exposure and the colours of the K10D. Don't ever let it go.

As you can see, I also have a K-3 but I still love using my K10D and mine is staying too.

That second one is a great example.

More K10D success

2nd place at this week's Weekly Challenge called "Writing/Writers". The picture is called "A writer's best friend".

Congrats on some nice work CR. That photo got my attention on Flickr the other night as well. Lots to like with that one!

Thanks Paul!

A lot of the credit goes to the Rikenon P 50 1.4, since I took that picture at 1.4 to be able to get that very selective focus on the coffee cup. I couldn't have done this on my old Rikenon XR 50 1.4 as it's just not good at 1.4. I think most Pentax 50 1.4 would also have problems delivering this quality at f1.4, except the DA*55 1.4.

Great photos

Lots of nice photos here recently. Not to single anyone out, but Rupert's flowers are great even without any bushy tailed rodents showing themselves. I gave away my K-10, and almost tempted to buy back in, but I still have too many cameras I hardly use since getting the K-3. There are the almost idle K-20, K-7, and K-5II, not to mention yellow brick and Q.

I think a K10D and a K-3 is all you need (plus the 645 of course) One CCD, one CMOS, one good film system.

Great! So I can get rid of the K-5II, the yellow brick, the Q, the K-7,the K-20, the two MZ-Ss, the PZ-1P, and all the 645s except the 645N. Selling lots of those would put me on the path to financing a K-1!

Oh yeah, then you'll have one CCD, one CMOS (APS-C), one good film system, one full frame CMOS. What else do you need? Do you shoot much film these days? I am finding the cost a bit prohibitive... so I've already sold my little Minolta film system, I only have one lens and one broken body left... but I still have a working K1000 and P30T so if I do get in the mood for film I'll use those...
