Guys......I bought another K10D today.......for $65 comes with two batteries charger and grip.
Good find. Sounds like a good bargain. I have a similar kit but there's no way I would sell it at that price. It's worth a lot more to me.

Very nice score.

I am always buying at the wrong time it seems... paid a lot more for mine and had to also get the extra battery. I waited for over a month before I bought it to see if I could get a better deal but one never showed up.

And now there's a K-S1 with kit lens for 180 dollars, when I bought mine for 240 with no lens... but at least mine was a brand new one, probably a store display, that had about 200 clicks on it.... I also waited a few weeks before I bought it, that was the best deal I could get at the time...

But hey, at least I am out there taking pictures

The first one I bought here in the Marketplace, I paid over double the $65 and it didn't even come with the grip, but this one did. Although the grip is a generic version, if it works..I couldn't care less.

I know industrial landscapes aren't likely to win many photo competitions!, but I quite like this one. Maybe it's the sky and the little bits of colour here and there. Taken at on the edge of London's Canary Wharf district with a standard kit lens.
It loses a bit in conversion to fit on the forum but the original has a 3d look about it which I've noticed seems to be a characteristic of some K10 images.

More K10d colors... I've shot the equivalent to about 50 rolls of film by now, and I am still in wonder of the CCD

I got the second K10D yesterday late afternoon.
The reason I bought this second one other than it was cheap is, my daughter, who's never had any interest in DSLR or SLR cameras told me last time she was here that she thinks she needs a camera like mine.......probably not but she thinks she does. I'm going to set the second camera up as a sort of point and shoot. All automatic settings and let her use it when she comes to see me on her birthday in August. She's a good girl but she is of the crowd who thinks if she has a DSLR her photos will be better and she can get photos like mom does...... I'm sorry to admit it, but she does not have the photographers eye, she doesn't pay attention to details nor see what might make a good or great photo......I love her to death but she's not like me, she's like her dad, who had no interest in photography; though, I have to say he did encourage me to do whatever I wanted to do.

It sounds like the K10D might be a bit too complex for her... but maybe paired up with a fast prime, something like a DA 35 2.4, it would be a more rewarding experience. The nifty fifties are also wonderful with it. The K10D needs lots of light to shine...

I have a 50mm f2 I can slap on the end of this. I don't own any other small primes. Sold my 28mm f2.8 last year. No need for it. Don't shoot short primes myself. I also have the second edition of the 18-55mm for her to try with.

The test is to show her it's not the camera but the photographer.

Oh I completely agree, it's just that the camera shouldn't get in the way, and fast lenses really help with the old cameras. The 50/2 should be a fun experience, and she can always upgrade for an M 50 1.7 for 30-40 dollars if she likes it. Or the DA 50 1.8 would be even better, I think it sells used for like 80 bucks these days.

I think she's more interested in long zoom lenses. At least that how I perceived her to mean when we talked about her getting camera like mine. She wants something that will take photos of things beyond her phone's limited focal length.

Eagerly awaiting my second K10D with 18-55 and 50-200 lenses, charger, two batteries, flash and bag. I wasn't looking for another one,but with 1800 on the shutter and $150plus shipping I could not past it up! I'm the second owner.
