Just for fun...I said I would try Dartmoor Dave's settings ("Bright" option, Saturation +1, Sharpness +3, and Contrast -1) on my K10D and see how the JPGs came out. I also tried something else. I swapped my DA 18-135 from my K-3 to the K10D and put the Sigma 17-70 on the K-3. I only set Sharpness to +2 as I was using the DA 18-135 and that is a super sharp lens.
It was a bright sunny day and here is a good example of what those settings produce. I always shoot RAW + JPG and this is a JPG SOOC. The
only processing was to resize for the web.
I did do some PP later to open up the shadows a bit which was an improvement but this shot is unprocessed. Nothing wrong with an old K10D.
Thank you, Dave, for sharing your settings. They worked well for me and I will leave them as they are because sometimes (well, most times) the JPGs from the K10D just don't need much processing.
