Yup. Doesn't get much better than that.

These shots are from an outing at the Columbus Zoo Back in June of 2009. I was shooting the K10D with the smc Pentax-DA 55-300mm f4-5.8 ED mounted. It was an outing with my youngest granddaughter and after I pulled all the photos of her for the family, I guess I just never went back to take a good look at the rest of the days shots. Well, now that I am retired and have the time, I have been going back through and clearing out older shots that just don't have a reason to be saved , trying to pick up some extra room for the new larger images coming from the K-1, and found these, and others that I like. That same granddaughter is the one that I gave that K10D to a couple of years ago. After seeing these I am seriously thinking of asking her if she will trade it back for a different camera, like maybe my K-5. This K10D just seems to have a unique way of rendering images that I just didn't realize at the time. And I think that I am also as equally impressed with that low end zoom, which I still have but haven't used in a while.

You're getting lovely results from that Tokina, Paul... is it a push/pull zoom, or rotating ring?

Thanks, Mike. It's an AF zoom, and resembles the one reviewed here: Tokina AF SD 28-70mm f3.5-4.5 Lens Reviews - Tokina Lenses - Pentax Lens Review Database
My copy does not say "SD" anywhere, and has a wider focusing ring than the one pictured.

Ah, OK. Not what I'd thought. Those AF Tokinas have very nice build quality, and some of them have very nice rendering too. Yours certainly does. Thanks for the info, Paul
