I dragged the K10D out of it's bag for the first time in years the other day. I still appreciate the engineering and design that went into it.

Charged the battery, mounted the *16-50mm and brought back some fond memories of years ago.

I wish my father in law would do that and I sort of have two, since my mother in law was divorced then re-married. But no DA*s for me hehehe

A couple older shots using a cheap Quantaray (Sigma) 28-90. At the time I was using ufraw/gimp combo for RAW processing - it produced quite vivid colors! These were taken after a youth baseball game:

We had some major lake flooding that year. The lake levels reached about 20 ft. above normal.

On the eve of today's 90+ degree temps and a forecasted heatwave, I'm remembering the three March blizzards.

A day out to the shops .. took my new K10D, with pentax 18-55 WR and an old sigma 50-200.

Pretty impressed with the Sigma - picked it up as a spare lens in a job lot that came with a broken K100.

Since we are in bird mode - here are some I did on the way to the shops and back . Looking for subjects that might be able to show off the reds an greens, and looking for some punchy CCD contrast.

Its actually quite a tricky camera to use - there is a lot of depth to what it can do, but its not exactly forgiving, with little margin for error. You gotta play to its strengths. It seems ideal for going for that "National Geographic Look" if that makes sense.

These 3 shots are DNGs straight out of the camera, with hardly any work in post.

Having fun !!
