It surprises me how many of my favourite images are with the K10D - but it was my first digital camera, and the one I got back into photography with after a few years of not doing much, so maybe not so surprising in a way. Anyway, this is with the 50-200mm kit lens on a well known avenue of beech trees in Dorset UK.

Another beautiful photo. I'd love to see more of your shots from your K10D days.

Love it! This is what the K10D is all about. I have a similar, but not nearly-as-nice image taken with the same gear (DAL 50-200)
I've given the camera to my son now, but there's something about it and the kit lenses that makes you not take yourself over-seriously as a photographer yet it can produce great images all the same

Hi Ffking

Lovely light

Dave
Thanks - that road was only a few miles from where I lived at the time and I did a sort of year long project trying to capture it in different seasons, light and weather.

Thanks DD - I'll definitely post more - it's a painless way to raise the count for the month apart from anything else. Here's one from the same road that really took off on Panoramio for some reason - over 600,000 views - can't remember where it got to inthe end - my most vied - and most ripped off - picture (with the 50-200 kit lens again

So does the road less travelled lead to the abandoned park bench ??

Dave
There's a crumbling picnic table at the end of this road when it reaches the lake. There are many others scattered around, hidden in the trees and brush.

Was going through my old lens collection and picking out some that need to go in the bin.

Got this lovely Soligor 35-200/3.5 that at least feels like a proper lens, but its seen better days and the internal elements are off-the-chain with fungus (or some other type of crazy going on inside the old thing).

So anyway - taking it for a "last walk" before throwing it in the bin, and .. dunno .. think Ive changed my mind. Admittedly, this one was shot hand held at 1/90th sec, on full macro at 200mm, but its still going to be soft whatever you do with it. Took a bit of processing to get some level of punch back in the image.

Such swirly bokeh though !

Think Ill keep the Soligor for a bit longer. "Art Lens" .. yeah, that will do.

One more for the road - another shot from the trashed Soligor, needing stupid amount of PP work ..

but ah - soap bubbles !! nice.

  • Soap bubbles - wrong (according to some)
  • Lens full of fungus - wrong
  • Insane amount of PP - wrong
  • CA out the wazoo - wrong
  • Focus apparently somewhere in the left ear - wrong
And yet ... and yet ... somehow it all works!

Another one of the trees with the 50-200 kit lens - apologies for this dip into the archives - I'm rather enjoying the memories

No apologies needed. I am enjoying your images. Very typical K10D output. Don't stop now.
