A very pleasant landscape, Paul. Nice bands of colour.

As Dave stated well, there's a lot of us who like the older CCD sensors and the K10D is the ultimate CCD sensor camera in the Pentax lineup, which is why we shoot with it.

As far as ergonomics and the body in general, to me the K20D would actually be the one that is as close to perfection as anything I've ever had in my hands. Better grip than the K10D for sure, and during the years I had it, the back screen never felt small or low in resolution. The SR on/off switch is something I miss on the newer bodies. I wish they had made the K20D with the 14.2MP CCD Sony sensor from the Sony A290, but that ship has sailed now. So I use the K10D instead... and combined with a good lens, it can really bring out some magic (which of course is in the eye of the beholder...)

Here is an image from 2011 that I found I had not processed. Sadly it is ages since I have done a dawn shoot like this. K10D and Tamron SP 10-24mm - a good combo.

Agree with you mostly, but to me my Pentax 645D is the ultimate CCD camera in the Pentax lineup!

Ah yes, no arguing there. Though I think you sold yours for the Z?

I should have said it's the ultimate Pentax CCD for the K mount...

That one really is stunning. The way the colour of the stone around the pool blends into the reds in the sky, the way the water in the far end of the pool seems almost to become part of the clouds, the fantastic angular composition -- everything. Magnificent stuff, Ray.

I did not sell my great 645D with its CCD sensor when I got the Z. They reside side by side in my camera and lens cabinet, although the D has only about 5,000 clicks compared to 30,000 for the Z. I like both of them.

I am probably a better collector than a photographer, and I almost never sell anything, so have the following camera lineup: PZ-1P, MZ-3, Q, K-10, K-20, K-5II, K-3, K-1, 645N, 645D, 645Z. I also have acquired copies of AF versions of all the 645 lenses except the 25mm, the 600mm, and four of the zooms, and I have sold off some of the A versions of the 645 lenses. I also have at least one version of 14 of the Pentax 67 lenses, but still missing the 35mm fisheye, the four zooms, and four of the long lenses. I like the collection for my personal use, but also as references when members ask questions about Pentax medium format lenses or when I wee a particular lens result that I would like to replicate (sounds better than copy)

Looking back over the past few years of snaps in December, I decided that I'd become too obsessed with shadow recovery. So my new year's resolution was to start putting some solid blacks back into my photos. (Tak 20)

Nice one, Ray - lovely range of colors. (I don't/won't/can't do many dawn shots either) !
