A cute surprise on our lake today - a mother duck and seven ducklings. I'm a sucker for such cuteness. K10D and Tamron AF 70-300mm F4-5.6 Tele-Macro.
I'll be back with a longer lens.

Tangle Falls is known as one of the most picturesque of all of the waterfalls in Jasper National Park. The water tumbles over a series of steps in the rock, creating a beautiful, multi-tiered effect.

It's a bright sunny day in South London so I thought I'd get my M series 24mm F2.8 out. I bought this new years ago and back in the film days it was my favorite lens. On digital it becomes a 35mm which was disappointing so I put it away more or less until now. It's actually pretty good, a bit soft sometimes but can be sharpened in pp. It's so bright today I set it to F8 and let the green button choose the shutter speed which was always high. I really ought to use it more.

At the roadside on the way to the supermarket today. Yes, that really is the road to the supermarket, and of course I had to stop. I think in this latest plastic mount incarnation there's really only a slight brittleness to hard edges that gives it away as a kit zoom. Of course I'd really like to give the 20-40mm a try, but it goes for about £400 used so it's out of the question at the moment. El Cheapo only cost £17.
