I don't often reply but I do read this thread often and you all are doing some really awesome stuff. Very inspiring. Here's some snags from two weeks ago when the wild flowers here in south Texas were in full bloom. Now it is too hot already and they are dying

All on the FA Limited 43mm and of course K10D.

I think it's very uncommon to find one that big. At least in Brazil (where there's lots of eucalyptus) they usually don't get to half that size...
They can get quite big here in SoCal. That one was near the coast south of Santa Barbara. The same tree is pictured in the above b/w photo.

San Antonio, so, not as far south as it goes I have been here less than two years and had never been to Texas before that, so it's a big change in scenery! But I am learning more about the kinds of things to photograph around here and it's been a lot of fun.

Here's another to keep the thread going:

One of my favorite places in Texas. We made the drive down from DFW many times, and it was always magical. If you haven't already, be sure to check out the Parade of Lights on the Riverwalk during Thanksgiving weekend. Unfortunately the crowds had been getting unwieldy the last few times we went. Plenty of photo ops around town. Sorry to say I didn't have a K10D on my trips down there

I've been getting acquainted with the 10-17mm on my K10D. Good lens for very big plants, but also for very small plants.

The high contrast inevitable when shooting wide in a shady forest on clear-sky days has me shooting brackets and processing HDR about half the time.

Thanks, I've been photographing and re-photographing that tree for some time trying to adequately portray its character.
