Also, it tells us that every single one of us has equipment that is far above our ability level.
Ain't that the truth!

Another old one with the Sigma 17-70 DC Macro on K10D. Before the Storm...

That's a great one, Paul. It's just so darn beautifully well seen. Perfect proof that the only thing that really matters is the photographer's eye.

So today I got my K200D, after a bit of mail delivery drama, and given that my K10D is failing... I don't know how much I'm going to post here from now on. The pictures my K10D takes are fine, but whenever I try to preview or delete images I have to tap dance around failing buttons that activate other things instead of what they're supposed to do. But I'll keep reading this thread as the K10D continues to impress even today. And who knows, my K10D's sensor is still perfectly fine, so every once in a while I'm sure I'll be giving it a spin!

But I'm going to Florida tomorrow for 9 days, and this time the K200D is going, and I hope to get some pictures of sunrise beauty (I'll be in the east coast) with some CCD magic. I'm sure the CCD will do well in full sun as well... the K10D always does

Maybe I have to start that "10 Megapixel CCD Club" thread after all....

Flowers with the K-10

I bought my K-10 new, and then followed Pentax up the pixel ladder: K-20, K-7, K-5, K-3, K-1, and eventually 645D and 645Z. I still have all of these cameras, but AF does not work on the K-10. I do not like AF very much anyway, so no harm. Here are a few flower photos, all Manual or Av mode, manual focus, f 2.5, ISA from 100 to 400, which is about as high as I like to go on the K-10. These photos remind me what a fine camera the J-10 still is.

KIT: K-10 with Tokina AT-X 90mm f 2.5 macro.

A few more flowers with my classic K-10 and the Tokina 90mm f 2.5 macro, the "Bokina," so called because of its wonderful buttery soft bokeh.

+1 to that.

How would everyone feel about perhaps asking Adam to rename this thread as something like: "The 10 Megapixel Club (Formerly the K10D Club)"? Then we could invite in anyone who shoots with a 10 megapixel CCD of any kind -- even non-Pentax cameras if people want to. I know that photos from non-Pentax 6MP CCD cameras are already welcome in the 6 Megapixel Club. (And to a pedant my GX-10 would be a non-Pentax anyway.)

But CCD only, of course. We don't want any CMOS riffraff around here.

Why not just make it a CCD club? That way we 645D 40mpers could also post from time to time.

That would work for me. Any time I get to see a 645D shot is a treat. Makes me seethe with jealousy, but it's still a treat.

I think it would be nice to keep it to Pentax and the Samsung versions but I'm flexible.

I would love to post to a CCD page instead of getting lost in the Medium Format club. Not much reason for jealousy as the price on the 645D has declined considerably, maybe about $3,000 less than I paid for mine some years ago. It is a great camera, however, once you get used to its slow operation. It takes maybe 20-30 seconds for a photo to show up on the screen after making the shot.

Th
That sounds like a great idea, Dave. I would be more than happy to go along with that. I have learnt that camera brand is less important than the skills of the photographer. So, go for it. I am sure that Adam would not object.
