My old K10D has been mostly relegated to timelapse duty now, and a few days ago I had it set up in the yard because it looked like we might get a thunderstorm that evening. I hadn't even considered I might get a lightening strike, but I did. Lens used was my 16-85 @ 16mm, 1/15s, f9.0. Here's a link to the video too.

Had a visitor to the feeder this evening at Dusk...

Momma Raccoon

Momma Raccoon

She lives under my shed and has what I think is a large litter of kits.. We see her often at dusk and catch her on the game cam as well. Shes very wary of us ( as she should be!) and high tails it out when we so much as open the door... tonight I was able to sneak out on the deck and snap a few pics before she bolted. The K10D is not exactly a low light camera, but I like the way they came out..reminds me of some of my 35 mm slides wild life pics from years back.

Glinda that came out very nice! I like the solitary rose amid the buds.

This is a rework of a shot from 2016. The Spring months brought a lot of wildflower photo ops back in Texas. F80-200 on K10D:

Paul, Thats a pretty one.. Nice isolation. I had never seen "Mexican Hats " before..Its a cool wild flower,, I searched a bit and its available by seed. I may give it a go here In CT.. Its Deer resistant and attracts Butterflies... perfect for my yard!

Thanks! Good luck with the experiment in your garden. Those grow wild in Texas and surrounding areas, but they mostly bloom during May, then disappear the rest of the year.

Here's a few more in a natural setting, next to a fallen mesquite tree - same kit as before:

Not bad at all for ISO 1600. Really good macro images. TFS.
