A friend lent me an Industar-61 L/Z M42 Macro lens to try out, and I decided to give the K10D a little tour

I did not even notice the bug until I had a look at the images on my PC screen it was just at the right spot by chance.

I'm very pleased with the Industar-61, it's not "true" macro, maybe 1:2, but very useful overall.
I also now have a M39 to M42 adapter, which allows me to use my "normal" Industar-61 50mm 2.8, though macro only, and no focus adjustment. Together with a 2x Teleconverter I can get about 1:1 true macro, but it's much more difficult to use.

If you get a chance to pick up a m42 helicoid you may find the focusing easier.. i have one I use with russian copy lens and industar 50 and have found it to be very useful. The pentax branded helicoids are pricey but you can pick up a 3rd party one for real cheap.. $20-30 on ebay...

Ps.. photobombed by a bug.. I like it.

As far as I understand it, a helicoid wouldn't help much. The lens itself can focus, but it's designed for the short focus plane distance of the Leica and leica-like cameras. Just like you can't adapt a mirrorless lens to Pentax K without a correcting lens inside the adapter :/

From the KMGT again.

These blossoms are quite small, but are almost ceramic or porcelain in appearance. They're also popular with bumblebees...

^^^^^ Thanks!

Kings Mountain Gateway Trail. Part of the Carolina Thread Trails system. SWMBO and I walk there most weekends. There is a pollinator garden at the top of one of the trails that cycles through a remarkable number of blooming plants through the seasons. It borders an abandoned (played out) section of a quarry. There always seems to be something to photograph.

I think I've translate IHGAFC... in there somewhere is "haven't," and "clue," yes?

SWMBO is an old British TV reference, probably used a lot more now than when the show was on: "She Who Must Be Obeyed." I could also refer to her as Miz MXLX.
