Thanks! That pic was the only test shot that I felt might be worth saving. The light was good, so I tried to use the rule of thirds to see if it could make this street scene a bit more interesting.

The hosting site, imgur.com, automatically creates a low-res image that I used as a thumbnail. I didn't want to bloat the forum with full-res images. Although a 10MP image might not be considered that high nowadays?
I see. That works different I guess than flickr.

Some hosting sites such as Flickr allow you to link to a lower-res version of your photo - something like 1024x768, which is suitable for posting on forums. Another option is to resize your finished photo to a suitable size using your editing software, and upload that instead of the full-res photo. This is what I've been doing for years. I rarely post a photo above 1200 px on the long side. Meanwhile your originals are safely stored on your PC.

Many many years ago, my K10 was in a bag of stolen camera gear. I missed it badly, but i moved on to other bodies and systems.

Well, i found one a few weeks back in a used camera store, a bit battered, a bit sticky, a crappy lens , a failing battery and no charger. But on a whim, i bought it.

Bolted the 35mm/2.4 to the front and shot a couple of jpegs. It's a nothing shot, but I'm back in the K10D / CCD club!

Welcome back to the K10D club!

Here's a snap from my evening walk last Thursday. K10D + SMC-F 35-80. A polarizing filter helped to avoid overexposing the sky. Without the filter it was difficult to get decent exposure without over/underexposure.

Thanks! I don't use polarizer that often, but every now and then it proves to be an indispensable tool.
I remember seeing your pic on Flickr, still nice to look at that zig zagging trail.

I must admit I’ve bought (and use) some Nikon DSLR’s, but……..

I also use my Pentax Q and my K10D, no intention to sell these camera’s. Have these for years and stil love them!

Ps: My wife sticks with her red Pentax KX

Walked past a construction site and thought the tall red crane might make a nice contrast with the background. This time I decided to experiment a bit and compare the photo with and without a polarizing filter. I tried to avoid overpolarization by turning the filter very slightly past the max. polarization setting. The polarized version has some dramatic contrast, while the unpolarized one somehow looks more natural.
