Thanks Ray - the shadow was the first thing I noticed when I came across this.

A couple more from the last few days with the Sigma 17-70 DC macro v1:

Shows why it's just not fair for people to under-rate the M50mm/2.0 the way they do. It was the only lens I owned for my first few years of photography with my K1000 back in the eighties, and it produced truly beautiful results with Kodachrome. Even today, I still prefer the warmer rendering from the f/2.0 over the cooler look from the more fashionable f/1.7.

Yes I agree, its bizarre how different they do render on film. Back in my early days I was convinced it was the UV filters I had over the top, I was forever swapping them all the time until I worked out it was just the difference in the f1.7 and f2 lens haha :P

There certainly were moments of..

"But the f1.7 is the better lens, how can I be liking the f2 photos.. I must have had them back to front"

:P

Take more photos!

There's some good information in this thread about using the K10D debug mode to adjust focus issues with AF lenses: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/6-pentax-dslr-discussion/110320-k10d-focu...ebug-mode.html

That said, I still use manual focus much of the time with my K10D.

You should be able to get into debug mode using PK Tether. PK_Tether – Tethering Software for Pentax DSLR Cameras

The sinuous composition of the first one really draws the eye into the frame. I'd love to see a b&w version to emphasise the juxtaposition of the crossed logs against the s shape of the river. (Or is it just that I've been programmed by years of looking at Ansel Adams photos to always expect this sort of shot in b&w?)

Are these the Ansel Adams images you were looking for?

The K10D was my first DSLR. I have so many fond memories of this camera.

Here are just a few pictures. My two Grandchildren, the Memphis Belle, Anchor Chain on the USS Battleship North Carolina, and a Pano at a local lake.

Thanks for taking a look.
