Well, after all the K10D is a classic camera that appeals to discerning photographers with a more sophisticated aesthetic sensibility than the CMOS masses. The new owner is obviously a person of taste and refinement.

(Sorry. . . couldn't resist.)

But seriously: does selling the K10D this quickly mean the K-5 is so much better that you're sure you'll never use the K10D again? Even at ISO100?

In my case, the truth is that I would buy a newer camera tomorrow if I could afford to, but I think I'd still hang onto the K10D for the things it does so well.

I've been trying super hard to keep my LBA under control, 2 x SLR's feels like I'm begging to hoard again. so I had to pass it on. :P

Honestly, it was fine, and it was only in a moment of weakness that I ended up with a K5. If I had more self control I would still have the K10. I was looking forward to keeping it in time for it's 10yr birthday this September actually.

And you know what, there will be times where a 200mm on one and a 24mm on the other would have made life easier... but those times are to few to justify keeping it.

VIV LA K10!

Yeah the the only the K5 has over the K10, as far as how I was using it, is two and a bit stops. A tripod would make that advantage redundant...

Well I've just become a lurker of these parts.

what have I done.

For you reference, $170AU with 3 batteries, a Grip, snd a cannon S-type screen was too cheap.

#face palm.

Ah well, share the love and all that :P
Just because you got a K5 does not mean that you had to sell your K10D. I recently ( well, almost 12 months ago) got a K-3 but I still have my K10D and have no plans to part with it. It's part of me now.

K10D and DA 18-55mm WR kit lens.

From the east coast of Australia looking towards New Zealand. You can't quite see it but it is out there somewhere.

Nice shots Ray. In good light the K10 can hold its own.

There's a lesson for us all here: no matter what other camera you buy, hang on to your K10D because you're going to miss it when it's gone.

I feel your pain, tromboads. We need a smilie symbol for, "Genuinely sympathetic."

Exactly why I still have my *istD, and won't sell it. (Also because it's not worth much on the used market .)

Yup that is why I still have my K10D. I do not use it much, but I can not get enough for it to justify selling it. Someday soon I will have to get out my old Takumar's and put it to use. Sometimes I wish I had got a different focusing screen. My old eyes do not work as good as they used to.

Oh man go get yourself a focus screen! I've got a Nikon FM3 screen in the K5 at the moment (had a cannon S-Type in the K10 previous) and it dam well transformed it! You can make yourself a dedicated MF camera with that K10 :P
