Nice shot Carol, I stay clear of bees since I'm allergic. I almost died back in 1979, they had to jump start my heart, so tend to avoid them.
Wow! I don't blame you! The honey bees (shown in picture) have never bothered me; but a yellowjacket is one mean critter that will actually chase you! I'm definitely afraid of them!

Your images are outstanding! I really love the last one, the colors and texture are so nice!

Yes, I'm using a $15 Sigma 28-70 macro, that I had no expectations from; and have absolutely loved it. It's sharper than my kit lens, so it's on one of my K10D's the majority of the time. As you said, basicly a junk lens by today's standards, but the results from it say differently!

makes me want to get the K10D and the old Takumars out and some old school shooting.
Sounds like a great idea! Very nice zoo images, Michael.
The bee shot is also a good one, Carol. Great to see you getting such enjoyment from the little Sigma!

This was taken a couple years ago, but is apropos now, with our current hot weather streak we're experiencing. K10D with the DA35/2.4:

Thank you, Carol and Paul. Those were some of the first shots with K10D. I actually went two years before getting an autofocus lens.

Here is another oldie, the first night shot I ever did with my K10D wit same old "junk" Takumar. I did cheat a little, there was a light post I cloned out in photoshop.

That shot has such beautiful lighting in it! The reflections in the windows are so crisp.

Thankyou Carol , I actually had to set up my tripod in the street to get that angle. This was also the time I started shooting in Raw and using Lightroom. This one is the same shot after playing with Lightroom

Yeah, I do too Carol. I always try to show in my photos what I actually saw.

Great shot, I have never tried my Sigma 50-500 on my K3. Here is another oldie with my K10D and my first autofocus lens, a Sigma 18-50 2.8.

I found that if you do not crop to much the lens was not at all that bad, once you try and push the lens with a 15 + mp's the lens flaws start to add up and you cannot crop the heck out of it

I am sure these were as good as I think they were! Love me some ribs on the grill, haven't had them in months...

By the way. Since you started the K20D thread, I'd love to know how you compare the two cameras. I still think about getting me a K10D at some point.
