snapshot on the walk home from my sons karate drop-off. (with a cheap 135mm Petri manual lens, WO at 3.5). On my monitor at least, i like the darker, muted green bokeh.

not sure if it's good or bad, but this thread has me taking more shots with the '10 but little artistic consideration, lol. (in my defence, i shoot sports generally. not fancy stuff !! lol). I haven't picked up the '5 all week, and it's stopped me itching to get a IIs or K3 for a bit! Instead, i'm thinking lenses again. either way, wifey will be frowning.

Never enough lenses?

I believe it was an interview with an atheist talking about sin, morals. etc etc. Anyway they were introducing that a believe system completely void of any structure or limitations is really a bit boring. I.e. there is nothing Bad to do. Nothing to rebel against, assert your innate ability to choose or contradict. Where does ones identity come from if not from their choices, and the values that come with them?

Perhaps you find the K10 is just that. Some boundaries to explore in more detail. A wall to push up against. Creativity it forces simply because of the limitations it has.

Beautiful rugby shot saladin! Could you post the Exif info if known and lens used. It would help this amateur a lot. Thanks!

I'll see if i can find the exif details, userk. the lens would have been the old 75-300 kit lens.

I’m glad I’m not the only one with an emotional attachment to their K10D. Despite having more up-to-date Pentax DSLRs, I find myself taking it off the shelf increasingly these days. On a trip to Australia four years ago it helped capture some spectacular memories, like the amazing wildlife that’s everywhere. It even made the most of the lowly DA 50-200.

But, doggoneit--this doesn't help my attempts to rationalize getting a new Pentax this Christmas.

I love this site!

I have never thought of my 50-200 as "lowly". I am really fond of that lens and use it whenever I can.

Nice shot of the birds, BTW.

Great parrot colors! I also like my 50-200, but don't use it often enough.

This is incorrect. The k100d was the first with SR.

Same here. So I decided to remedy that today. This is my favourite. The DA 50-200 and the K10D worked well together.

Thanks, OH. I tried my old SMC Takumar 200mm as well but the 50-200mm produced the image that I preferred because of AF and much shorter MFD. I must admit that I like AF better than MF.

I still like to play with MF lenses.
Here is my latest
I'll add an image from the K-10D and Schneider Tele-Xenon 135 f/3.5
