Nothing wrong with some of those old presets. That one looks like a case of "don't judge a book by its cover". Cosmetics count for little; it's what is inside that counts.

Speaking of the K10 :P

Is there a way to turn of the automatic image review once a photo has been taken?

I confess to hitting the trigger down quickly as if I'm taking another photo to shut the screen up, but its flashes on for a half a second either way, quick enough to cause my eyes to squint in the darkness as I try and refocus.

Yes.
Go to Menu/Playback
First item is Playback Display, next comes Digital Review - pick this
Right arrow this and you get a menu with first item=Display Time
Right arrow this and your choices are 1sec, 3 sec, 5sec and Off
Choose Off
Then back via Menu button
Done

Thanks Ray.
It is quite old for a Soligor - preset and all and only f4.5.
But what a surprisingly good lens. I think, from the information available, it was made by Komine.
Not one for fast action, but for deliberate photo taking, it is great.
And, of course, the K-10D handles it easily.

Cheers

The K-10D really shines with the old M42 lenses.
Here it is with my Hanimex 135 f3.5 pre-set.
And then a couple of quick piccies with the combination.
Both shots are wide open at f3.5

The K10 shines with whatever glass you have. With a relatively low MP density, It flatters most And as we have seen. Do we really need new cameras?... probably not.

That lens produces a sweet image wide open. You have given me the impetus to get out the younger cousin to that lens. I have a mint condition Hanimar Auto 135mm f2.8. Also made by Hanimex (why they called them Hanimar I'll never know).
It was far too windy outside tonight to get a decent image but I will give it a run shortly. Anyway this is what it looks like:

K10D + Pentax A 100mm F4 Macro lens ... Something about the K10D , they still demand $$ on the used market , I guess they are held in high regard ..
Some of the asking prices just bring a tear to the eye , and make me look at the K30 and K50 ...

As mentioned many many times , the camera is some what dated , lacks a lot of features found in more modern Pentaxes , but that does not mean it cant take a picture ..
