I would be interested to see some images from it. I expect it will be excellent.

I'll see what I can come up with, Tom. I have a subject in mind.
I have never considered that it might be rare. But I have to admit that I have never seen another one. And I paid all of $25 for it...many years ago.

Here is a sample using the K10D with a Promaster 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 LD Tele-Macro - not in macro mode. Not a bad zoom for the price.

It helps when my subjects are slow.

cheers,
Fred

Not just a flower - a very delicate flower. Very nice.

Thank you, Tom, for prompting me to get some images with this lens. It actually performs better than I expected. Its full name is Sankyo Kohki Komura f2.5 105mm (from the nameplate) and it has a 48mm filter thread.
Here are a couple of images I have just taken. Plus one of the lens itself.

It looks like I have another lens that I should use more often. Thanks again, Tom.

Very beautiful Ray and as good as I would expect.
If you ever want to move that lens on - let me know first.

Thank you for your comments, Tom. Now that I know what it can do, I'll be keeping it. You knew I would say that, I'm sure.

Ah, late afternoon light! Hard to go wrong with that - and the Komura strikes again.

Finally getting round to posting in this thread - fabulous shots by everyone btw Had my K10d a few months now and have been really pleased with the results, so glad I opted for this model as my first DSLR. I've been doing the monthly single challenge and have found it really useful, getting to know how to work the camera and opted lens. Using a Pentax-F zoom 28-80mm this month, it sometimes gets fringing but to be expected from an older lens. Took this shot yesterday at my workplace: slight crop, converted to b&w and upped the contrast a little

Doesn't the old K10D render greens so well.

Both top class images. Typical K10D quality.

Yes. And many other colours as well.

It's become my favorite lens over the past 6 months. People will dismiss it because the zoom range is narrow being standard to short telephoto (on digital). Its strength is it suffers less from the optical compromises seen in kit zooms that are wide to short tele. For getting in close it's great.
