My K100D has been a great trainer but I'd like something with AV and more weather worthy (Maine).
K10d has been recommended on another forum.
Amazon has a used body for about $2C, which is about what I've got into my 100D body.
Where do you get a decent WD lens for it?
I don't think my DA 18-55mm kit lens is weather sealed.

If it's original to the K100D, it is not WR. If it's recent, check the name on the lens. Is it DA 18-55 WR? the WR stands for Weather Resistant.

I've gotta say that setup looks a bit weird, Tom, but it produced the goods and that is all that matters.

Yep ..... the Mamiya RB67 lenses have no focusing helicoid so one has to be inserted in the setup.
Clumsy I know but good fun.

Heavy metal, to be sure, but the results are indeed excellent. Wow, that seems like a huge lens, even for 6x7.

Thank you for the kind words.
Haha - not the biggest to be sure.
I also have a Mamiya-Sekor 4.5/250 which is a beast by comparison.

Wow, that is a beautiful looking lens, Tom. All those numbers would scare the beginners away!
And it has f45 min. aperture. I love it.

I went on my first sunrise shoot in a long time today. I took the K10D, my Tamron SP 10-24 and my trusty DA 18-55 kit lens. Unfortunately, there were no clouds on the horizon and when the sun rose it was very bright. Anyway, here is what I got:

Aye but I'm liking it just the way it is, you've just gotta love the colour rendition on on a K10D.

Thank you both for your kind words. It was good to get out on a sunrise shoot again. Thankfully, daylight savings kicks in next weekend so sunrise will be an hour later.

That image has a delicate feel to it. And nice bokeh as well.

Ray and Tom,

Beautiful images for sure. That K-10 is very special isn't it.
I prefer mine over my K-50. Different colors from the K-10.
Although the K-10 is a little harder to use, one you can get the jist of it the K-10 can't be beaten in my opinion.

I got mine because of the inspiration i got by viewing Tom's pictures. I'll try to put up a set when I get a chance.

Regards,
Gavin

I'm liking my new k10d more and more, In fact I've gone and got the battery grip and spare battery for it - something I told myself I would only do when I was sure I had the camera I want to stick with

It's simply stunning now for portrait orientation - I am amazed at the difference in feel, it isn't rushed anymore like when taking portraits with twisted hands!

I'm still getting used to the camera, but will happily post some shots when I feel I have a handle on how it responds. It's coming up to my favourite time of year, when misty mornings combine with later sunrise times (!)
