I've had the K10D for almost 4 years now. Purchased it used from a used camera dealer. Amongst ccd based pentax bodies I have this one and the K100ds. I like the rendering of pics using a ccd sensor as against new gen cmos sensor. I also like how highlight recovery is much easier and looks more natural with ccd sensors compared to new cmos sensors

between k10d and k100ds i prefer the latter because its much lighter and i somehow am happy handling 6mp images. quick to edit and one doesnt notice any major difference when viewed through a computer monitor.

Well, I'm a very happy camper! My K10D body will be here Thursday, so I can finally use the 55-300 DA lens! I also have a 18-55WR lens coming next week.

May I add, all three were purchased from great members right here on MarketPlace! All look new. This place is a Pentaxian's dream come true!

OK single shot
OH
Then that means that if you were using a tripod you should have set SR to off. Self timer and remote control drive modes automatically set SR to off. But you were not using either of those. See page 68 of the manual.
So, having SR set to ON while using single shot drive mode on a tripod for an 8 second exposure could result in the sound of the sensor moving to be heard....I guess!
Easy enough to test - do it again with SR on and SR off.

What about these...
Taken in Kenya, Lake Baringo two years ago by a Tamron 18-250.
The 2nd is 250 mm, 1/400, F 7.1.
The 3rd is a colourful girl from Lake Turkana. All handheld.

Last year I purchased a K5, but I prefer the good old K10d for my many journeys to Africa, Asia etc etc. Reason; the colours!

Yes, the colours look just right to me. Good shots. TFS.

K10D with 16-50 lens

Taken last week at a local open space preserve. All shot with K10D using the 16-50 lens. LR used to control vignette, correct lens distortions, and do some color work to enhance the subject as needed. Metering was done with external lightmeter since I was not able to trust the DSLR meter since this body has the S type screen.

I tend towards quirky and abstract images these days, here's an ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) shot I did of coloured paper clips. The K10's colour pallette was ideal.

This is the first picture with my K10D and the 55-300 DA lens. This is at full zoom, handheld. It's heavily overcast so it's not the best.

Looks to me you did pretty well. I like the pic and you should try some legacy lenes on your your new 10D, you will like it.

Well done

I'm loving the K10D more and more. This was with the 55-300 handheld.

Yes, I'd best photoshop the wire out of it.
