Hi all! Ordered my K10d today so hopefully it will arrive on monday. Seeing forward to make the acquaintance with it again. Sold my K10d in 2012 after 5 years and some 13500 images. Bought the K-5 but have always missed the old snapper.

I had originally bought the K10D to hold me over until I could afford a K5iis. Well, after seeing the colors and the beauty it gives; I instead bought a second K10D for backup! I absolutely love it! Welcome back!

Every pentaxian should own one of the 10mp ccd camera's. Seriously. Well done to those coming back to the k10.

Thanks! Light was falling and as the iso went up it became less viable in color, lol.

csa: "Gord, beautiful photos! I especially like the last one; great colors!"

Thanks! Quite a variety of lenses there, too, but the colors seem to harmonize. (1. Pentax-A 50mm f2.8 macro, 2. Pentax FA 35-70mm f3.5-4.5, 3. Tokina ATX 400mm f5.6, and 4. Sigma 24-60mm f2.8, my most used lens on the K10, and the only zoom I've ever owned that I use on a regular basis)

The K10D seems to have a strong enough personality that it "overrides" many differences between lenses. I almost always shoot on manual, and almost always at ASA 400, a carry-over from my B&W medium format and 4x5 days when I just shot HP5 and eyeballed almost all my exposures.

I did "upgrade" a couple of years ago to the Kx, a nice little camera for sure, but I think the K10D produces a nicer picture somehow, in spite of the extra 2 mp. But now that the K3 has 24, I think I'll have to consider a move. However, my K10 will not be available!

K10 ridding shotgun

"Oh boy oh boy oh boy! where are we off to today. "

Bonus points for working out what the car is :P This really could be a Pentax "Pure Photography" add campaign hahaha

Actually that might be fun. Someone replicate this, Click!! with a K10 :P

I don't have a crappy zoom nor a pocket watch

---------- Post added 01-20-15 at 01:24 PM ----------

Which reminds me, It really isn't significantly bigger then the K1000, and I consider that to be small..... I won't show it side by side a ME however.. :P

Ahhh so much love for the stupid ol' thing. Alright outside time, enough forum-sterbaiting.

Well didn't mean to kill the regular posts that where happening here ... :P Sadly still no pocket watch so I can't answer my own question above, but to continue images made with K10's. a shot assisted by a 200mm Super Tak mounted on front.

I was proud of this for;
a) Being in focus
b) Nice(ish) composition
c) Mystical magical CCD colours that many of you rave about

Oh. you can't see from the above images of my K10, But I lost the eye piece cover for it years ago. One arrived in the mail today (thank you ebay) and boy it feels brand new

It's the little things.

Things do seem kinda quiet around here lately. That motorbike shot is excellent, and I think there actually is some of that magical mystical colours thing going on there. If you'd claimed that it was shot twenty years ago with Kodachrome on your K1000, I would have believed you. And I mean that as a most definite compliment.

Actually, this site in general seems to have quietened down a lot recently, and I have to confess that I'm starting to feel a little bit bored. Every time I tune in there seems to only ever be minor variations on the same old tired old themes. There's always an APS-C vs "full frame" thread. There's always a newbie who has misunderstood the concept of "crop factor". There are always half a dozen people asking if they should sell lens X and buy lens Y, because DxO says that lens Y gives one line per millimetre more corner resolution. And there seems to be precious little interest in actual photography. I only really come here for the K10D Club and the Takumar Club nowadays.

Sorry about the rant. Need caffeine. Here's a couple of photos.

Turn 1! Goodness I tried to rattle of a couple of shots but couldn't really nail anything. That my shot was from the exit of turn 3.

Lovely shot of the cathedral

And Dave, wonderful shots . The landscape with the 24mm looks great. Was it really that much brighter towards the background?

And yes this place perhaps in general feels recently to have been all about gear and not much to do with photography. Oh well with a few similar minds floating around perhaps we can swing the tide one post at a time.

Pentax K10D + Kit Lens 18-55

I still prefer this body to others I have, the major drawback for me is the accuracy of the Auto Focus but I use a lot of MF lenses with these bodies! I believe the focus on this image is ever so slightly off...
