Only problem is that it means yet another pony photo. Yeesh. I'm sure I must have taken a photo without a pony in it at least once over the years. . .

Amazing photo as usual Dave

That is wonderful, Steve!

And guess what... I'll be joining the ranks of the K10D club. I got one that seems to have had very little wear.

You've shown the sharpness and wonderful colour rendering of that lens beautifully. A friend of mine uses the "F" version, which is optically identical, and it's one of the very few zooms that I yearn to own. The annoying thing is that I agreed not to bid in that auction so that my friend could get it.

You won't regret it. The things the 10MP CCD can do with colour and light are just magical.

Congrats and as Dave has said, you won't regret it. The CCD sensor has a special feel to it. We will look forward to seeing what you produce with it.

Congrats and welcome! I'm sure we'll be seeing great things from you soon . Don't worry, no pressure . Hope you can come to love it as we have. Did you get the one we talked about in the Marketplace?

No, that one was gone quickly! But the one I got seems like it just mostly sat for years. Very little wear, it could pass for a floor model. So I'm pretty excited even if I ended up paying a little more.

Now go buy a bunch of cheap batteries and you'll be set.

I'll have one Pentax battery and one offbrand battery. I think I'll be good. That was my setup for the K20D and I never felt the need for more batteries.
My experience with cheap batteries hasn't been very good by the way. The two DSTEs that I bought on Amazon for the K-r just a few months ago hardly even hold a charge anymore...

Might as well get a photo up here, I guess...DA18-55 kit lens (which always seems to find its way onto the K10)

I put the SMC Pentax-DA 15mm f4 ED AL Limited on the K10D today along with my latest step-up ring (49-77 mm) so that I could use my Lee filters on it. This is at Soldiers Beach - a favourite shooting location.

K10D, 15 mm Limited, 1/250, f/13. ISO 100, no filter.

K10D, 15 mm Limited, 13 seconds, f22, ISO 100, Lee Big Stopper 10 stop ND. Sort of smooths things out, doesn't it?

Yes! That is why they call it "The Big Stopper". And now I see that they have a 15 stop "Super Stopper"

The Stopper Range of long exposure filters from LEE Filters - Little Stopper, Big Stopper and Super Stopper.

Where will it end? Be warned - they are not cheap!

Beautiful shots of a nice location Ray. I can see all kinds of possibilities with those ND filters. (but I prefer the first image, myself )

Steve: Nice image - your landscape looks like ours did back in January! Looks like Spring has finally sprung in your neighborhood.
