That is a spectacular image. Lots of interesting detail. I knew that Dartmoor Dave would like it too. I'm surprised that he did not mention the horses and ponies.

This post is partially K10D related because many of us use our screw mount Takumars on them.

I am very fortunate to own a book called "The Ultimate Asahi Pentax Screw Mount Guide 1952-1977" by Gerjan van Oosten. As far as I know there was one only print run of 1500 copies and I bought mine directly from the publisher in early 2000. The asking price on Amazon today is over US$600. https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Asahi-Pentax-Screw-Mount/dp/907653702X?tag=pentaxforums-20&. Abebooks.com are asking $300. They are obviously rare and collectible. And mine is NOT for sale!

This book contains details of every Asahi Pentax screw mount camera and lens. If anyone wants detail about any Takumar lens then I am more than happy to provide it. There are multiple models of some lenses and this book was invaluable to me when I was scouring eBay when I was accumulating my Takumars.

Thanks Dave, I appreciate you saying. Film has all but dried up since I got the K10D and now the Samsung GX-1S. They give me the look I want straight out of camera that I've been looking for with digital for years!

I'm very glad that you like my works. K-10 is the best Pentax camera in color rendering thanks to the use of CCD sensor, I love it very much and can not part it, although I have also k-20 and K-5 IIs and K-3 and K-1.

I didn't get good weather for photos because it was cloudy and rainy evening when I was there.

Trumpet vine flowers. Pretty, but in my experience it hardly ever attracts a hummingbird as it is often said to do. I've seen about two hummingbirds at it in the 30 years I've been growing the stuff. It is also very invasive, spreading by underground roots, much more than by its copious seed. It is also hard to get rid of.

K10D, in-camera jpeg (Natural, with Sat, Contr & Sharp zeroed)

The lens has extremely shallow DOF wide open and near its maximum reproduction ratio. Here, I focused on the backlit veining in the lower flower, and, regarding whatever else might be sharp, I let the chips fall where the may.

The fact is that I do not remember exactly where I took this photo.
I only remember that it was in Montana, and that when I saw these hills and the clouds floating above them,

I know I've already posted loads of photos of Windy Post Cross over the past few years, but here's another one anyway. It's along the nearest route for a short easy walk, so it's a spot that I visit often. And last night I thought that the evening light/pony factor was high enough to warrant another shot. Super Takumar 20mm, of course.

Nice and sharp, with subdued, almost Portra like, colours. Very nice, I like it.

Oh yes, that definitely deserved another shot. Nice light, well composed and with the obligatory pony in just the right position. Well trained by you, of course.
