Big seas running at Spoon Bay today 9 November 2017. First two with Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.0 DC Macro HSM 013 Contemporary, last one with SMC Pentax-DA 50mm f1.8.
The big swells were caused by a low pressure system off the coast between Australia and New Zealand.

Aero L-29 trainer:

Not sure what type of plane this was - they had a couple of them parked on the field.

The paint job, as many will recognize, is that of the WWII Flying Tigers:
File:Hells Angels, Flying Tigers 1942.jpg - Wikipedia

However, it doesn't look like a military plane--certainly not a fighter--but perhaps it could be a plane used for military reconnaissance.

I think it's a trainer of some kind, possibly a T-34: Beechcraft T-34 Mentor - Wikipedia
The plane isn't listed on the SoCal CAF website AFAIK, and I can't recall what our guide said about it....

Beautiful shots as always, Ray - I can almost feel the spray on my face from that first one

I've been feeling a little bit uninspired to go out and take pictures lately... even at family events, I haven't taken my camera with me like I used to. Part of that is my wife always saying "again with the camera? don't we have enough pictures already?"...

M 50 1.4 wide open:

So today I wanted to relax a bit and instead of focusing on composition (which I should be doing so I don't rely on bokeh so much to make my pictures look interesting), I just took the inverter ring out and mounted an M 28 3.5 and took the old dependable AF280T flash with a folded piece of paper taped to the top, and kinda shaped to make the flash light go towards the subject. Sometimes that worked, sometimes I had to sort of hold the paper in funny positions to get the subjects lit. Still, more fun than I've had lately.

I've read that the magnification with this setup is about 3:1 (that is for inverted 30mm but some say the Pentax 28mm lenses are really 30mm).

Here's a small Abelia bush flower:

A little drop of dew on a blade of grass

And the texture of a sweet almond bush leaf

The 55-300 is a surprisingly good flower lens, isn't it? I might have to look into getting one after all... especially now that the DAL version is selling for around 100 bucks.
