winding road to the lake on a gloomy December day - F35-80, which I find to be a nice "walk in the woods" lens:
ahh to see those classic Texas Landscapes...

They can be harsh, bleak,...and beautiful all at once

These were all taken the same day (Dec 12) with the F35-80:

I also only found the style selector now. But on some threads the text seems to be black over dark grey so I've changed back to a white background now... :/
Just changed mine to green, which I find very restful. YMMV.

OK, was Disney World designed to take advantage of the color rendition capability of the K10D, or was the K10D designed to capture the colors found only at Disney World?

Those are definitely some striking colors!

On a much smaller scale with the DAL 55-300:

I spent some time today looking through older photos from my K10D. Found these two from 2009, and decided to play around with processing the original PEF files in ACDSee Pro, then took the resulting jpegs into Color Efex Pro. Both were taken with a Tamron SP AF 28-75mm.

I really like the natural tones in these - very nice!

K10D Club regulars might remember (but have probably tried hard to forget) that a while ago I made a (shall we say) modification to my 18-55mm WR involving some sandpaper. Lately I've been feeling like I don't want to carry more than one lens around, so I've been trying the old kit zoom again, but it still wasn't really giving me a look that I liked. So now I've completely removed the coatings from the front element, and I think things are feeling a lot more promising.(*)

Here's a couple of shots from today with the now even more modified lens. And no, the skies are not faked in PP. It really does look like that around here when the ground is sunlit but a nasty storm is approaching.

(*) Somebody is bound to ask, so read on at your own peril: I used a silver polishing cloth and some elbow grease. Takes the coatings right off without affecting sharpness as far as I can tell. Standard warning about proceeding at own risk. . . blah blah blah. . .

I would agree - both are dramatic, but the first is stunning. I'll be monitoring your progress before I commit to the sandpaper, though

K10D with FA 28-105mm lens. Taken at ISO 100 at the short end of the lens.
Post processed to sharpen and to remove some yellow cast.

Reminds me of Portra film when used for landscapes.

Last year I was given a Canon EOS 20D body (8.2 MP, circa 2004-2005) and I purchased a new Canon 18-55mm kit lens for it. Yesterday I decided to do a test of it against my K10D and its 18-55mm WR kit lens. It was hard to pick the differencce between the results from each camera combo and neither of them has anything to be ashamed of. Both performed well despite their age. K10D images below.
