You are too kind. And you are getting some nice results from that Sigma/K10D combination. I hadn't considered the Contemporary 17-70 lately because I like my 16-45 a lot, but maybe I should reconsider that...

Thanks, CR. That Sigma 17-70 is a great lens when it nails the focus point. Some times it doesn't but I am working on it. I am assuming that I might be part of the problem. I have often wondered if I should have gotten a 16-45 but I always wanted more at the long end. That's why I upgraded from 18-55 to 17-70.

I can't think of a good reason why this isn't being sold for a good amount of money.

Well, I'll be sorry if you don't keep sharing those moments with us. That one is a great example of your photographic skills. It has it all: composition, subject matter, lighting, subtle processing and it's pleasing to the eye.
I assume that the water is the snow melt runoff, yes?

I wasn't sure, Paul, so I asked Mr Google and he knew. It is a Royal Enfield Classic 350. Single cylinder, of course. They sell for about $6490 drive away here in Australia. There is also a 500cc version for about $2000 more.

Paul, yes it's that 18-55mm again after all these years of pouring scorn on the poor things (although mine isn't exactly in showroom condition

). Christian, I'm flattered at the thought that my snaps could have any value. And Ray, the snow melt is long gone now and the stream (or leat as they're called here) is at about its normal level in this shot. In just under four weeks we've gone from blizzards and snowdrifts to warm sunshine.

A couple from my last trip to France:

First is a French bullfight in Arles (where the bull has all of the advantages!) and the second is the I. M. Pei pyramid at the Louvre taken at the very end of the blue hour.

The object is for the "bullfighters" to grab a ribbon attached to the bull's forehead and escape with his life, in order to win a prize. While none of the bullfighters were gored while we were there (thankfully!), it has happened a number of times. The bulls obviously have learned a thing or two in their careers. Even being behind the red wall around the bull ring is no guarantee of safety. While we were there, a bull used his horns to toss the boards in the wall at one spot into the ring, got into the area behind the wall and circled the ring with everyone there bailing out over the wall into the ring, until the bull left that area and then they went over the wall again, in the opposite direction. Reminded me of a cartoon on tv!
