So I thought I'd mention here in the Club that Kenmore Camera has a K10D in "Excellent" condition for $99.50 and free shipping (they ship for free anything over $50).

They also have some really good deals on lenses, including a K 24 3.5 for 79.50 (!!!) and an FA 28 2.8 for $149.50. And a TAMRON AF 18-250MM DI II for $99.50 for anyone needing an all-around superzoom (and that's a good one from what I've seen!). All in Ex condition. Those probably look very good on the K10D, and I wish I had the means to buy at least the 24mm right now, but alas, no mean to do so... but it's ok since I have a very good Pentax 24 2.8 and a couple of very good third party 24 2.8 lenses so I really shouldn't be complaining at all

This is a complete re-edit of one with the 20mm that I originally posted
I like it Dave - the light is similar to the brighter/more contrasty sunsets we get here in Texas.

Nice work with the old zoom on the K10!

Ahoy thar!

No, it's not a selfie. As if I'd ever dress so conservatively.

Bright and colourful. Typical K10D output. Very enjoyable.

Aarghh! What a great portrait subject. But if you would never dress so conservatively then I think we need to see a selfie.

A beautiful autumn day seemed like a good opportunity to use my screwmount Tamron SP 28-80mm Model 27A. I purchased this lens from a guy in the US in 2004.

Golden Cane Palm frond.

Bird of Paradise flower (Strelitzia reginae).

Branches.

But Ray, you can see a selfie of me right underneath my name in every post I make here.

I think you've proved in those photos that screw-mount zooms can be a lot better than most folks would imagine nowadays. That second shot in particular looks completely sumptuous.

Re your selfie: Yeah, right! I have often studied that selfie!

I bought that lens to use when I went to Hawaii, my first overseas trip after I had retired. The funny thing is that I was only moderately happy with its performance on my Spotmatics but it is really shining now on my Pentax DSLRs. I am pleasantly surprised.

I'm glad I dropped in here, it's been a while. But that K 24 3.5 is now on it's way to my home.

Thank you for the tip.

I took what I'm fairly sure was the first selfie of my life yesterday. I just plonked the camera on top of the bag on top of a rock at Langstone stone circle (which is actually the remains of a prehistoric burial kist rather than a true stone circle). That big bit of emptiness behind me is the Dartmoor wilderness, and the pose is down to me starting to wonder if that darn LCD was ever going to stop blinking and fire the shutter.

Blame Ray.

That is most unexpected but I am glad that you did it, Dave. I will happily take the blame. You are taller than I expected (don't ask me why!) and I am very happy that you don't look a bit like Gonzo. I am not explaining that to anyone who does not understand.

I have not taken a selfie since my early film days and I am not about to drag that one out. My avatar is me and it was taken by a photog friend with whom I go out each month.

Thanks Ray. Somewhere along the way since I joined this forum it started to feel like "Dartmoor Dave" had taken on a life and personality of his own, which weren't always exactly the same as the boring middle aged bloke who was making the posts. In my mind, Dartmoor Dave is a grizzled old moorsman who eats roadkill for breakfast and knows the true name of that little tor near Barn Hill that nobody knows the name of. And I really enjoy imagining that I am that character, so I'll probably keep on pretending to be him, even though I've now revealed my true dullness.
