I had a trip to Yosemite coming up and spent a ton of time re-learning the camera. It was a blast, and I experimented with multiple settings and got some great pics and some not so good. I have a ton of pics I need to study the exif data. Normally I carry a little notebook and jot down what my settings were, but alas in packing for the trip, the notebook failed to make it.
All of these pictures are straight from the camera. I did not do any post processing, a personal preference, as I am trying to deliver the best the camera can deliver.
This is the Toulumne River that normally is rushing with rapids everywhere, it was very unusual to see it this calm. This is the river that feeds San Francisco it's water.
Dial was on Green
ISO - 100
Aperture - 8
Shutter 1/280
This is Mt. Conness, which is very bright. I wanted to see how the camera dealt with the extremes of the bright mountian and the dark trees.

The goal here was to get the minute details of the stain on this Granite Dome. This dome was under a glacier and while there are quite a few vertical stains from water, just left center you can see the horizontal stains as the glacier scraped the granite. Once again this was taken with the dial set to Green

This is a tiny wildflower called Gayopythum. I shot it with a manual Pentax 70-210 with Macro. It was a bit windy, so I am surprised it came out as clear as it did. I thought I had the dial set to manual, but exif says otherwise, so it may not pick up manual lens info.

One of my favorite waterfalls in the park. Toulumne Falls. I setup for shutter priority and used the front dial to change shutter speeds. Loved the simplicity

This is Toulumne Meadow, the largest meadow in the Sierra, the mountains in the distance are Mt Dana and Mt. Lyell the two tallest peaks in Yosemite. My goal was to shoot different settings while shooting a mountian scene. AE seemed to be the best.
