CCD's really are fantastic for B&W too. The micro-contrast and tonal detail shine
Yes, you are right. A couple of examples:

A couple days ago I went out with my M 50 1.4 to give it another chance... and I don't know, I think we just don't get along... I'll have to sell it when I create a selling thread with the stuff I need to move on. I didn't get a single keeper.

The closest thing to a keeper was this image I made with the Craigs Optics (made by Cosina) 60-300mm f/4-5.6 when I wanted to change pace a bit... a group of turtles enjoying the sun.

Thanks, Ken. I achieved those results by using the standard "B&W Landscape" preset that comes with Lightroom Classic CC. I will be using it again!

For my 200th post this month I wanted to post in this thread So I went and worked on some pictures from my photo walk the other day with the M 50 1.4 on the K10D - the pictures I said I didn't really like. I managed to get them a bit more to my taste I guess, but they still don't look as nice as my other 50mm lenses. I'll share anyway

Here's a winding path by the pond where the photo walks have been taking place... notice the geese swimming by the fountain

Here's the moment when they arrived at the other side

So here they are... hanging out in the sun

I mentioned that one of the lenses I acquired recently is the M 150 3.5. Once I buy a precision screwdriver set, I'll try and clean the fungus from the inner elements... I'm a bit nervous about it to be honest.

I tested it again and most of the pictures had this "haze" in the middle due to the fungus. Here it is stopped down, f5.6 I think. I can tell it's sharp and I'm going to like the rendering of the lens once it's clean. Very much looking forward to it, but for now I have other lenses to keep me busy

By the way, this picture was one of the few that was salvageable by adding a TON of contrast and saturation that the fungus stole away...

Bonus fun exercise: spot the turtle
