Today I escaped from a stupid idea to bid for a Sony F828 camera. I was attracted to the Zeiss lens which is just a license from Zeiss to Sony and the fact that the Sony has a CCD.

Pentax was way ahead of Sony in those days.

The Sony camera is useless even at 400 ISO.

The noiselevel is extreme. That is what DP review forgot to mention. The more I read about Sony the more I like and appreciate Pentax cameras and lenses.

The K10d is an underated camera. Who needs more than 10 MP?
You can find plenty of Zeiss Jena lenses in M42. To bad they've come back into fashion because of the bokeh hunters. You could get a 58/2 biotar for $15 any day of the week 20 years ago. I've got a bunch of Zeiss Jena glass in Exakta mount but on a Pentax I need to use an adapter and it has a lens in it...it think it affects image quality.

Hiya: )

I've just been messing about with my now old Samsung GX10, my only DSLR (for now) and a SMC Pentax A28mm f2.8 lens. I've spent the last week just using this lens and am really enjoying it.

Here is a photo of our hound... Jorgi.

The photo was shot in RAW and is untouched apart for cropping and resizing.

Lovely winter shot, Cartesio!

If this was made with a zoom lens will buy that lens.
What lens did you use?

This is a serious question. Has anyone successfully used the K10D for action shots? I've been trying to get some photos of my 5 year old running around or swinging on a swing or tire swing and her face always comes out somewhat blurry. I have two K10D cameras and kit lens plus the 31 and 77 amigos and they all come out the same. Someone already mentioned using the back focus button and center square only and I've tried that as well.

Not me. I bought a Panasonic G3 for two main reasons. One was action shots, the second one movies. Some years later I am roughly satisfied with the G3 and the G85/80 I bought after it, but recently I went back to my K10D, whose colours are better to my eyes.

Running kids on the k10d was something I usually solved with manual focus or the good old focus trap. With some lenses it is possible to do with af, the fa limited are kind of hard in this matter though.

I also try pre-focusing on an area where I know the subjects will be. I've gotten decent results on the rare occasions I've used it.

If you need the 2 stop correction as standard you have no alternative to correct situations that need 1 or two stops more light.
The calibration can be reset I think. The question is is it worth the money. K10D bodies can still be found for friendly prices.
It's weird...I've been shooting with this K10D for a few days now and it seem the exposure is correct after all. The initial testing I did was indoors under warm LED bulb and those seemed to give me underexposure and a warm tint. Shooting in daylight and brighter indoor daytime now and getting proper exposure. Some scenes I do need a little compensation but it's normal type based on scene highlights/ lowlights. I did do a reset and adjusted image and color options and that may have actually been the issue. I really am liking this camera.

Well it is pouring down in Bolton (UK) so I've had a play with the Samsung GX10 a Tamron/Adaptall SP 90mm f/2.5, some moss and a birthday card envelope!
