You can compensate for the tilt by adjusting the focusing screen shim so that the level that you see through the viewfinder will match the actual photo. But it tends to go back out of alignment again after a few months of use, so like others here I've eventually settled for just fixing it in post. That's not ideal, because rotating an image by a degree or two requires interpolation, but in real world use it's never caused me any visible problems. At least not at the sizes I view and print at.
I've actually been trying to compensate for the tilt by adding a slight tilt in composition in the viewfinder....suprisingly this works more often than not.

The K10D doesn't shoot B&W, correct? At least I haven't figured out how to set it. Even Raw development on camera doesn't offer it. Obviously, post process will do it. It's odd... My K2000 allows shooting B&W. Also interesting the the supposed same sensor of the K2000 allows ISO settings to 3200...although the noise at 1600 is pretty much identical to the K10D.

Yes, it does. When viewing an image, press Fn and then press the left arrow and you will get B&W.

Ha! I didn't even know that!

But I prefer a RAW conversion and then B&W anyway. Though I have to say I used to quite like the black and white SOOC from the K20D so I should give the K10D a go in this as well...

...except it's back in my work place, where God knows when I'll end up going back to. I'm working from home indefinitely.

Some STUNNING pictures these last few pages, by the way!

Thanks for the tip, Ray. Although I prefer to apply mono treatment in post.

That used to be a junkyard near where I live. The junkyard was in the back, and the front yard was a sales lot.Any vehicle they had that had any value was usually put in the front lot.

Here's one from June 2010.

It's always a pleasure to see your work in this thread. And it's always a reminder that I should visit the film threads more often. Especially since I've been shooting the darn stuff again lately.

Yes, Paul, I also prefer to apply mono in post but the OP claimed that the camera did not do it and I had to set that straight!

...and I'm glad you did! I wonder what other little-known tricks the K10D has up its sleeve?

All is revealed if you read the manual. That's what I did.
