Just stunning! I'm amazed at how beautiful this rose looks. I'm a sucker for flower pictures and this is one of the best I've seen.

Oh, wow, CR. Thank you for your very kind comments. I never expected that. I don't know what else to say. Thank you so much.

My therapy during this self-isolation period is to take at least one or two photos a day close to home. This one was taken with my K10D and the DA 18-55mm "kit" lens (WR version). I always shoot RAW and JPG but in this instance I chose the JPG file. The only processing I did was to change it from 16 bits to 8 bits and resize. Nothing else. So, this is an example of what the 18-55 can produce. I bought my K10D new in 2007 and the majority of the images I have taken with it were taken with the 18-55.

Here's another flower photo for you @ChristianRock.

Keep them coming, Ray!

I'm curious about one thing though... I thought JPEGs were always 8-bit files?

Now that I have a new computer, I'm changing my workflow for post processing again... Darktable is great but just too slow for me.
But my K10D is in my office and I'm having to work from home for a while, so it might be while before I post here again.

You are right, CR. Yes, always 8 bit. My bad - force of habit as that is what I do with RAW files.

I am sorry to hear that you are temporarily isolated from your K10D. I am retired so my office is in my home and so is my K10D.

That is a striking paint job, Paul. Another great image with the 18-55mm.

Today's photos are of birds on our lake. K10D and my trusty Tamron 70-300mm F4-5.6 Tele-Macro.

Two beautiful black swans.

And a duck.

I can't complain, first because my work hasn't skipped a beat, we're as busy as ever, even working from home (I'm in software development). Second, I have my trusty K-S1 and the K-50, as well as a mostly-broken* K-S2 that I was given recently that the person gave up after attempts to repair.

Oh and lovely colors in that last lake shot!

*Mostly broken: the mirror on the K-S2 is completely out of whack, and the use of manual aperture ring is somehow disabled. The person fixed the solenoid so lenses with A-contact stop down, at least. But by doing so broke other things... or it might have been already somewhat broken by a previous fix by the California guy who attempts to fix the solenoid, but that fix didn't last... anyway, those things that don't work I don't need anyway since the things this K-S2 doesn't do, the K-S1 does...
What is working well with the camera still, is video. Which is why I got it - it has a mic input so I can play around with video recording. None of my other cameras has a mic input. Oh and it has a flip screen also, which should help... and wifi to control the camera from the phone. Should be fun....

Thanks, Paul. Apart from a small crop that's how it came from the camera.
