Is that yours, Ray? Have you ever used it?

They don't make 'em like that anymore! Nice, Ray.

Ray has a way to surprise us time and time again/
Did not know he was into antiques as well.
Lovely shot, the red fabric is a great idea.

No, CR, it's not mine. It belongs to one of my photog mates. We decided to have a tabletop/still life session inside because it was a rainy day and were asked to bring along suitable props. I sort of gravitated to that old classic.
We all enjoyed ourselves immensely and we plan to do it again. There are four of us and we have been meeting up once a month for photography outings/adventures for over 15 years.

They sure don't, Paul. And I doubt that they ever will!

Brings back memories! When I was a boy my dad had one of those. I think he'd kept it from when he was a young man. I never saw him use it, Kodak Instamatic's were more the flavor of the day then.

I can imagine those meetings are great fun.
It is a special craft to make good looking tt shots.

It is part of my business to sell gear.
Couple of days ago I shot a K5ii, mounted the camera on a tripod, tripod in front of a white refrigerator.
Was easier and faster than the tt approach. Best thing I had offers for the K5ii within two days.

The K5ii has to go, I am simply too happy with the couple of K10d bodies I bought.
Rather spend some money on an extra low shutter count K10d.

We haven't had one yet that wasn't!

Agreed. It is not as easy as it looks. I am hoping that practice makes perfect.

That's the sort of talk that we like to hear around here.

While still hunting for another nice low shutter count K10d I did something stupid.
I pointed out the excellent qualities of the K10d to another photographer.
That is not very clever, generating more competition while stlll looking for another K10d.

The pond I am fishing in is not very large.
Untill I have all the K10d bodies I need I will not mention that Pentax body any more.

I suspect you already know this, but the Samsung GX-10 is a re-branded K10D with Samsung's own firmware (containing a visually different user interface), and a slight modification to the body shape that necessitates Samsung's own battery grip (the K10D grip won't fit without modification), which is becoming hard to find these days. Otherwise, it's the same camera; same sensor, same image quality, same functionality, same lens compatibility, and the same acceptance here in the "K10D Club" Since you're in France, you might find the GX-10 locally on eBay... or, they come up reasonably frequently on eBay UK. I mention it as an alternative, should the supply of K10Ds run dry in your region

Well personally I think GX-10 users should be drummed out of the club as the wretched undesirables that they are. Those Samsung guys seem like highly dubious types types to me, and I've even heard that there's one of them who chooses to live all alone out on a moor in the middle of nowhere, taking almost nothing but photos of ponies with his second rate K10D ripoff camera. Honestly, if people can't be trusted to use a good, proper, wholesome, vanilla K10D then they're not good enough to share the fine company of the K10D Club as far as I'm concerned.

Chuck out that Dartmoor Dave idiot first is what I say.

Oh, hang on, I've just noticed who's typing this. Changed my mind.

I wondered where this was leading. I should have known! Silly me.

Yeah, and revoke his restroom privileges too!
Oh, wait - I haven't had my pony fix yet this week! Never mind.

The same fella shoots a Canon PowerShot A1200 in the "Confessions of a Toy Camera Shooter" thread... Guy's using Samsung and Canon cameras, and comes round here posting his photos as if butter wouldn't melt in his mouth...

There oughta be a law!

Ah, waking up to those replies has given me a big happy smile this morning.

I wonder how far I could go with replying to my own posts with torrents of raging personal abuse aimed at myself before the mods stepped in?
