Spiratone f3.5 Flat-Field 75mm T-mount bellows lens, scrunched onto 19mm m42 extension tube, without a T-mount adapter ring + K10D, with m42 adapter + Black & White conversion. Focus point is about 18-20 feet away.

You are not trying to beat the Kookaburra bird from Ray with this funny looking tree are you Paul?

Nice try but no chance, that bird beats everything.

Um, I'm not trying to 'beat' anyone (it's a palm tree, btw!), and you're right - nothing can top Ray's kookaburra!

Paul.

Please, please desist with that sort of talk. This thread is not a competition.
Nobody is trying to "beat" anyone else. We are just here to show our appreciation for the images that our K10Ds can produce. Every image posted here has equal value. We comment on images that have impact but we are not competing.
We are all winners because we own a K10D.

Hello I've had my K10d since it came out and love it. I've been recently trying to get into long exposure photography. I'm looking for an app on my phone that will work as a remote using my phones IR blaster for this. Does anyone have a suggestion. I have found a few that connect but they won't keep the shutter open.

Dear Ray,

I should have used a couple of smileys here. Sorry my fault.

It just occured to me that after this ultimately strange Australian bird that sings about as loud a F1 car the tree looked mighty peculiar as well.

Of course this is not a competion, everybody is free to show followers of this thread what results he or she got with the K10d.
Come to think of it as far as I know not many lady participants. I wonder why.

PaulF.

Spiratone f3.5 Flat-Field 75mm T-mount bellows lens on K10D. Handheld at slight angle to the page to limit glare from artificial light source, and therefore not a test of the lens's flat-fieldness.

Yes, I agree that the tree looked peculiar. That was because our gardeners decided to cut the trees back aggressively. Here are before and after images. K10D and SMC Pentax-DA 18-135mm F3.5-5.6.

Don't worry. They will grow back again.

Cutting trees back like that is an old practice known as pollarding, and in contexts like this helps manage the size and safety of the tree for those around it. It's often done on street,, and some garden, plantings here.

Thanks for that. I had no idea that there was a technical term for it. I must ask our gardeners if they are aware of that.
