The K10D arrived much sooner than expected. The batteries will not be delivered until Monday or so.
The included lens is a Tamron 18-250mm.

The 18-55 is a much underrated lens. Only because I like to shoot with available light that it pays to spend more money on a 17-50 2.8 Sigma lens.
The local pub K10d nr2 with 17-50 Sigma lens, handheld shots.

Looks like a nice place to have a beer (or two!), Paul.

Absolutely Ray.
Moenen also serves quality food. First time I visited Moenen was to have aspergus a la Hollandaise: Aspergus with small new harvest potatoes, melted butter, slices of ham and a crushed hard boiled egg. That course is becoming famous in Germany. The Germans call it "Spargel auf Holländische Art"

Nice list of beers amongst which many well known Belgian beers. Writing about it makes me thirsty with temperatures exceeding 35 degrees what better excuse do I need to go to Moenen and drink a few.

The folk cleaning our roof last year started early in the day, allowing me to catch some of the action backlit with the recently arrived K10d and DA 50-200 f4-5.6 ED;

Something different 500mm reflex

Couple of shots with new Mamiya 645 C 500mm f 8 reflex/mirror lens. This is an interesting lens, a little difficult to focus, light to carry for a 500mm lens, an inexpensive way to reach out.

K10D First Walkaround

Over the last few days I received my first Pentax DSLR, some batteries and a couple of lenses. I had a few hours to look at the camera and manual to see what the various buttons and dials do.. With a charged battery, the 28-105 FA lens and a SD card made my way to a local park.

Starting at ISO 100 and Aperture Priority, not really looking for artistic, I snapped a few photos tp see what the camera would produce. I did not do any post processing, just batch converted all the images to JPG.

I like this camera, this evening I might check out the Pentax 100-300 F lens.

Phil
