That overcast countryside image really draws the eye in. There is so much to look at there. Great composition.
Thanks, Ray. At certain times of the year, if you want landscape photos in Scotland and Wales, that’s what you get! It’s good that the scenery is photogenic!

Great images by Ray and subsea. I had to take a few minutes looking at them in a larger screen, truly inspiring. Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful shots, Ray. The photo of the Grevillea is enchanting, especially with the little bit of busier bokeh to the right
Thank you, Mike. I was fortunate to be able to position myself so that the b/g foliage was quite a distance away and the result was what I was hoping for.

Thanks, CR. Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good! Considering that I was in a bus when that landscape flashed by my window, I was pretty happy with the way the image turned out.

I have my K10s set more to the middle of the grid, but I shoot mostly RAW.

That is exactly why there's RAW. If AWB doesn't quite get it right then it is so, so easy to adjust it in post. Much more difficult to fix if you have let the camera cook it into the JPG. It's like trying to unscramble an egg.

So , what I was wondering , . Was , should I not try to get the best auto white balance , even if shooting raw .
Or jpeg + raw.

Anyway this seems to be working better . ( I think ... )

Indeed, it does! The combination of sunlight, the color recorded by the K-10D and the, to me, unfairly maligned FA 28-80mm lens, was magical. I sometimes wonder whether I got the only "good" copy of that lens.
