The Cotswolds

Unable to travel outside the UK this summer we chose to stay in the Cotswolds. UK members can probably stop reading now, but for others, the Cotswolds is an area in south central and south west England offically classified an 'Area of outstanding natural beauty'. It's green hills mostly are farmland but dotted around this landscape are lots of small villages. The high streets are often the most interesting and lined with buildings made from the local yellow stone. These usually date from the 16th to late 19th centuries and even older occasionally. I used my standard zoom and because of good weather was able keep the aperture around F8. I'm always pleasantly surprised how well this humble lens resolves detail and this time was no different. These didn't require much in the way of pp apart from resizing to make uploading easier.

Upon seeing the phone booth... yup, it's in England

Lovely pictures, thanks for sharing (and for the context for us non-English as well...)

Thank you, Russ. Those images could easily feature in a travel brochure. I have always wanted to go to the Cotswolds but now I don't have to. Well, I can't go at present anyway.
You have really presented the area well. If you have more images I would be happy to see them.

Sadly these phone boxes have been disappearing for a long time now, either completely or replaced by a modern characterless contraption!
