Nice.
That lens is a bit under-rated ; many are , if you learn their strengths and not-so strong aspects.
Think you not ?

77, almost nailed the focus manually. I need to get around tuning the AF (it's always been backfocusing or frontfocusing, can't tell)

Why did you choose black and white , for a colorful butterfly ? Though it works .

don't you think these older lenses , or cameras, ( the pentax ones ) have issues focusing anyway.... i only have a few autofocus pentax lenses left now, and all of them have issues... back and forth ,

lock on focus but not in focus, it is frustrating.

but i manual focus 90% anyway.

seems daunting to me to try to fix the back or front focusing issues .... too much work

All of these taken on the same afternoon, which was becoming progressively overcast, and breezy. All taken at f/8, 24mm, DA 18-135 WR, K10D, isos progressively raised with darkening conditions.

Locations: Smithfield and Bernadotte, Illinois; Anderson Lake, along the Illinois River.

(most of these are cross-posted in another thread)

This particular camera has always had focus issues but I was too newb to know that back in that day. It had AF issues with the kit lens (18-55 II which I still own) and it seems to still have that with all other compatible AF lenses I own to date . I couldn't believe the lack of sharpens I used to get. "That's what you get for having a semi-pro camera?", I used to think, while other people would constantly shoot top sharpens stuff (I would mostly be exposed to other systems due to popularity and online presence so it did make me question the pentax brand). Gradually I realised something was wrong. Having said that, the FA43 on the K1 also needs tuning. Maybe I should check how the 18-55 II performs on the K1 lol
