That lens is a bit under-rated
Not least for it's compact size, which meant it was the tele option I picked up on the way out to test the newly arrived Riconar lens that day ! I do agree that the rendering is also a bit special.

Why did you choose black and white , for a colorful butterfly ?
While there can be visible blue on the wings of this species this specimen was largely black and white, and I was more interested in the form of the butterfly feeding on a flower - colour in this case seemed a distraction to that end .

Thank you!

It was an extremely high dynamic range scene. I knew the K10D wouldn't be able to capture it all, so I let the sky clip and had my first attempt at black and white post processing the rest of the data.

I might be working around its limitations, but I'm glad the K10D lead me to a new approach. Thats the reason I have been using it recently.

Nice one Ray - I hope you'll enjoy that lens as much as I enjoy my copy.

Thank you, Paul. I am enjoying it more and more each day. Have just been out with it this morning as the sun peeked over the horizon.
