Thanks. I wasn’t expecting that lighting, but the K-10D did a great job even at a high (for the K -10D) ISO!

Impressive colours and formation. It's funny how it's entirely impossible for me to tell the scale; It could be centimeters or meters. But nature sure does create complex and beauty from the simplest materials.

Today I picked up the Soligor 28-50 at the post office, it's a nifty, small lens in immaculate condition that even has decent macro function, though my 75-205 still beats it ever so slightly.

And I could not stop myself and picked up a Pentax ME for 10€ including shipping. Without lens, and a missing battery cover, but lenses shan't be a problem and maybe I can rig up something to connect a battery. Maybe even an internal rechargeable lithium for a future project?
I only pray that my current Pentax obsession won't widen to SLR....

At the Gosford Public Wharf. Perfect weather for the K10D and the DA 18-55mm WR.

This boat is obviously not sinking and has had a couple of solar panels installed but one wonders just how much it will cost to restore it to its former glory.

The rest of the moored boats.

Thanks blankmampf. The complete lack of scale was the incentive for taking this picture. For references, the field of view covers above 2m of height, but hopefully it would be equally convincing if it was 20cm high, or 20m high!

Message for Dartmoor Dave.

I have a low mileage GX-10D that I don't make much use of that I'd like to give you.

Your photos have given me a lot of pleasure over the years.

James, that's a wonderfully kind and generous offer but I really couldn't accept it. Losing my GX-10 has left me with a strong feeling that a more compact camera is the way for me to go now, and I've realised that a weighty camera bag over my shoulder just isn't what I want any more. So it wouldn't be fair for me to accept your truly kind offer when I'm not sure if I'd give the camera much use.

I've looked at your profile and I think your photos are really excellent, so it would be great to see some more of your own GX-10 photos when you've got some to post here.

Thank you again for your offer. It's a beautiful reminder of how wonderfully good-hearted people can be at their best.

If you'd be happy with a fixed 28mm equivalent lens, I've read a few good things about the Ricoh GR II. Compact, but comes with an APS-C sensor, very good IQ, and also nice B/W profiles.
And since Ricoh and Pentax have merged, you wouldn't stray too far from the source

The GRII produces some really nice images and the handling is pretty good for a compact but nothing like a K10D.

The handling on the K10D is about perfect, added to which it doesn't have a thousand menu options you never use like a modern dslr.

It's as close as you get to the ease of use of film with rendering that is close to film in quality.

There's so little to get in the way of the creative process of taking a great shot.

It's just a great camera to use, but on this thread you all already know that. 😀
