You guys have been posting some great images... Nicely done!

I have an old F*300 that is really falling apart,Had it for years and years. I can't shoot manual any more on it, its stuck in AF and that does't work so hot all the time, I should retire it but its glass is just so nice. So I take it out and play once in while.

These were on the K10D with the F*300.. Not too shabby for ISO 1600

Did something just Move?

Is it Dinner Yet?

Beautiful cat portraits.
That lens is still "good" or better!

If it's stuck in AF, maybe you could try to tape over the AF contacts to "deactivate" them?
If you hit the right contacts, you should retain the data connection, but be able to focus manually, since without an electric circuit, the AF motors should be able to run freely.

And yes, I'm definitely jealous over that F* 300mm

Iconic Puenta Nuevo bridge over the gorge cutting through Ronda, Spain, in 2010. Taken as a pair of vertical images (with my K-10D and FA28-80mm) and stitched together in a vertical panorama using ON1 Photo RAW 2021. Required special handling in Photo RAW because there is a bug in its treatment of vertical panoramas. The 2 parts had to each be rotated 90° and then stitched together as a horizontal panorama. After this, the completed panorama had to be rotated back 90° into a vertical position.

It's impressively sharp, down to the last brick!

Here's one of the images I took this week. I just love how inky black the water looks.

And one of the many interesting sights in the old town district of Lübeck there's something reassuring about old ironwork. Has been there since long before we were born, and will probably outlive us by many decades, just solemn dark metal.

Thanks. Given that the lens was the much reviled (by others, but not by me!) FA 28-80mm, I was impressed by the results!
