I can't help myself: Resistance is futile. I offer as proof: Yesterday I was throwing out an embarrassing accumulation of magazines...found the issue of Popular Photography featuring...the K10D. Start your eBay search today.

I'm sure you wouldn't regret it
Maybe you can get a decent K10D (or its unofficial twin, the Samsung GX10), for around 60€ on eBay.
It's still a very cappable camera today, and good vintage glass can be had for a low price.
The only reason why I'm looking for a K-3 ii is for my birdhunting purposes, to have more megapixels to crop, and improved ISO performance to handle slow tele lenses better.
Even if I find one, I'll probably keep the K10D for the sub-150mm photo duty.

The light over there , seems very ‘transparent’ for lack of better word .
As if there is no air pollution . Or it’s too, the angle of sun or latitude...

Be nice to travel to places like that .
Toledo-
Probably has a lot to do with the altitude(about 1700 ft) and the dry climate of the central plateau - with Toledo being about in the "middle".

Hi, Glinda,

The atmospheric conditions in Spain and Portugal, when we were there, were unique. Europe was going through it's worst heat wave in 25 years. We were there for 2 weeks and the average temperature over that period was 107F, with a high temperature of 117F. Combining the heat wave, with the altitude, resulted in crystal clear air. If you look at most of the images that I've posted from that trip, when not actually on the Mediterranean, you can't find a cloud in the sky and there's very little haze. I've never seen conditions like that before or since!

I went for a stroll today, my K10D wanted to get out of the bag and into the sunlight great weather today.

Taken with the DA 18-55mm kit lens. I found it to be surprisingly flare resistant, even in direct sunlight, and I'm still impressed by how good photos taken with a 14-year old camera can look.

A bit of a brick facade, with metal bars which are used to stabilize the walls against bulging out, sometimes you can also see them on castle walls.
Taken with my Super-Multi Coated Takumar 55mm F/1.8

And I got some good/bad news: I won an eBay auction for a K-3 ii, and am extremely excited about that also very fortunate to have gotten a low price compared to previous auctions. It'll serve my birding and manual focus tele lens uses well, and I can't wait to try Astrotracer. It was a clear upgrade path to my mind.
Maybe my K10D will become my dedicated M42 lens/Takumar body, since that combination produces absolutely lovely colours, and I don't really need more megapixels for focal lenghts below 200mm.

Every image I see taken with the Helios 44 persuades me more and more to get one myself. The colours and bokeh in yours are so pleasant and gentle.

Having a dedicated m42 body is so convenient. I'm using two K10Ds in this way.

My Helios copy is a later model, as I understand. I've always been curious about them, and finally one turned up here in the Marketplace at a really good price. I'm happy
