Shutter count was 471!!! No wonder everything works perfectly. Yes, that sure was a lucky find and I am glad that you found it.

Every once in a while I suffer from one of those spontanious gear buying episodes. I had one again this past week where I came across an ad for a k10d. The seller gave little for description but the images looked great... it was $75 . K10d s are getting hard to come by.. the prices for them are rising too.I figured ok.. take the gamble... and bought it. When I received it the camera looked new. The firmware on it was original and when I checked the shutter count.. 471! Took it out for some test shots and everything works perfect. Have to say this was by far my luckiest find. Sometimes GBA is not a bad thing ! Figured you all Would appreciate this one.

I'm officially jealous. . . or more accurately seething with envy.

I'm stubbornly holding out trying to get decent results with the K-S1 since my GX-10/K10D took a nose dive off a viaduct, but every time I look at this deeply beloved thread my resolve weakens a bit. There's magic in that old sensor.

The curved building in the distance is known as the 'walkie-talkie' because of its appearance. The smaller green coloured block on right is where I work, or I did pre-covid. I work from home now.

I’ve got to laugh… The Shard, the Gherkin, the Walkie-talkie… Only in London!

Back in my Spotmatic days I had always wanted a Super-Takumar 105mm. However, one of my work colleagues offered to sell me a Sankyo Kohki Komura 105mm f/2.5 Preset for $25 and I accepted. Today I decided to find out a little more about it and it seems that they are now sought after and getting amazing prices on eBay.
From past experience I know that it is a capable lens so I put it on the K10D and here is what I got.

The lens taken with Sigma 17-70mm and processed with ACDSee Ultimate 2021. It is in very good condition.

Following images are resized JPGs SOOC.

Looks to me, Ray, like you got a bargain that complements the K-10D very well!

Yes, you got that right, Mark. At the time I had no idea that it would be so valuable today. And I suspect that the seller didn't either.

Thank you, Paul. I've had it for a long time. Another lens that I don't use often enough.

The Shard is the only 'official' name. The walkie-talkie has an optical interest. The first summer after it opened, some cars parked in the vicinity had their paint bubbled by heat because the building was acting as a parabolic mirror and focusing sunlight.

I heard about the paint bubbling when I was there in 2013. Apparently, they had a few cases even before the building facade was completed!
