Originally posted by element Hi all, My K10D finally is showing it's age, I am experiencing far to many dead pixels on the sensor, Having bought it new in 2006 it has given me years of joy, been on many trips and vacations. Does any one have a suggestion as a replacement/upgrade. I was looking at the K-70, but not sure, I have the kit and zoom lens for the K10D and several vintage lens that I would like to use in the future, as well as batteries. Any suggestions.... I own a Pentax Q as my interim camera... Thanks!
Another K10D, of course! ( I own two) - K-70 is definitely a capable camera, but I'm thinking you would be happier with a more robust flagship model, as the K10D is/was. New, you have the K-3iii, or there may be some new old stock k-3ii's available. The KP is almost a flagship model, but it might be tough finding a new one. Used, you have a lot more options. K-3, K-5ii or iiS are all capable. The original K-5 is very good as well, but the ii or iis models offer some improvements. Any of these will be a step up performance-wise from the K10. I still use my K10D quite a bit - I love the CCD colors that the newer models lack. If you want to try full-frame, there's the K-1 or K-1ii.
Are you a jpeg shooter? I found my dead pixel problems disappear when I shoot RAW. Good luck!
