A nice day in February, really "activated" the birds, especially this red-headed one.
DAL 55-300 on K10D, near 300mm; cropped significantly.

Thought I would try out some ICM. Plus another bonus shot...both with the DFA 100mm WR Macro. Both SOOC.

I think that’s a red-bellied woodpecker .
Good shots .

You can see it on one of your shots The red , it’s faint , as they naturally are . , but there .

Or if I am mistaken , someone else may correct me

You are correct.

Red-Headed on the right, Red-Bellied on the left.

We have Red-Bellied woodpeckers here, but TBH I've never noticed the blush on the male's chest.

At first glance, I thought both birds were photographed together on the same tree! Nice photos.

Don't give me any credit. I went looking for images of each and found that combination.

They are fairly big birds , every once in a while , usually March , I’ll see or hear a pileated woodpecker high in a tree . Or even close by , those are big . And they make some distinctive hamming noise on hollow trees .

Amazing . Thanks .

I probably have seen the red headed , up here north , however that picture doesn’t seem familiar as the other woodpeckers around . .
Birds are great . are they not ?

Curious for any feedback on these 2 images?

Since you asked- I don't understand the first image at all; the pinecone is , well , a pinecone.

Thankyou. Curious as to the image quality of the pine cone? As for the other one, ICM (intentional camera movement), it's supposed to be a bit dream-like, or like a painting...just playing around mostly with the old K10 I have not used in years.
