Yes, that is definitely Minolta MD mount.

That might actually be an interchangeable mount lens though, does it have a little lever on the mount that says O <---> L?

This is an MD to K adapter

Minolta MD MC Lens to Pentax PK Mount Adapter K R K 7 | eBay

It is basically a 1.4x teleconverter with all the disadvantages of a teleconverter. It will make that 400/5.6 a 560/8.

If you are looking for an MD to EOS adapter those exist too. But this is the wrong place to ask that.

You will need one with a glass element to get infinity focus. Without glass it will only focus to a few meters.

This is because the focal flange distance of the Minolta SR mount is 43.5mm, while Canon EF is 44.0mm.

You should probably wait to see if it is an interchangeable mount lens. If it is a Vivitar TX system then you can't get an EOS mount, but you can get something that is adaptable without optical correction. They made Pentax K, Olympus OM, Nikon F, Yashica C/Y and others that have a short enough registration distance to be adapted to EOS.

photo is very unclear. Believe this is a T4 or TX (believe TX) so you can get an adapter (M42, no K adapter for T4, and I believe none for TX--as I recall). If it is a T4 or TX the fstops (aperture) will have numbers increasing both to left and to right--to enable different systems to work w/ same lens.

Yes, VERY likely that MD mount comes right off -- it is a T4 or TX looks like. So you just get the proper Canon adapter (easy or hard on ebay depending on how common they are). Send better photos when you get the lens...

I just picked up one of these with a Pentax mount on Shopgoodwill.com last night that looks to be in great shape from the photos, I also picked up a Pentax SF1 with a SMC-F 35-70mm 3.5-4.5 Macro at a great price. The lens was what I was after. It even is coming with a nice camera bag...lol

The bag might even be useable if the person who donated it wasn't a smoker.
